Internal pre-release
First build distributed to a small internal group. Not yet feature-complete or production-hardened — used to validate the core capture pipeline, design system, and onboarding flow before a wider beta.
What's in
- Continuous screen capture via ScreenCaptureKit with adaptive cadence based on GPU/CPU tier
- On-device OCR and embedding pipeline — everything indexed locally, nothing sent anywhere
- SQLite/SQLCipher encrypted storage; default location
~/Library/Application Support/PixelDust/ - Full-text + semantic search across your entire capture history, opened with ⌘⇧Space
- Ask mode — natural-language questions answered from your own captured history, not the web
- Privacy controls: app exclusions, window-level redaction, keyword scrambling, quick-delete
- Menu-bar capture indicator; one-click pause
- Phase 4 polish: branded empty states, animated DustGlyph, permission-revoked banners, onboarding copy pass
